We educate and prepare advocates to provide trauma-informed victim assistance after a crime or critical event. Our training aligns with best practices specific to victim assistance providers and allied professionals working with victims of crime. 

We facilitate training programs for people that work with survivors of trauma at all skill levels. We offer foundational victim advocacy training, as well as targeted programs to support specialized professions. National Advocacy Leadership Center

The National Advocacy Leadership Center (NALC) offers innovative online training and professional development for victim assistance providers at any level, from aspiring advocates to experienced professionals. NOVA Members get access to all NALC benefits with membership.

NOVA Victim Assistance Academy

Gain effective tools and learn critical skills to assist victims of crime in our NACP-approved training program. New and aspiring victim assistance professionals will learn current best practices for assisting victims of crime in this trauma-informed advocacy training.

NOVA Community Crisis Response Team Training™

Prepare your team to respond to crisis incidents and assist victims with the NOVA CCRT Program. We have been training crisis response teams in evidence-based and field-tested best practices for small-scale and mass-casualty crisis management for over 30 years.

Child + Family Advocacy Academy

Learn evidence-based, advanced advocacy skills and system-based approaches for professionals working with children and families impacted by crime. This specialized victim assistance training is offered in partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Human Trafficking Response Academy

This is a specialized training program for victim advocates & allied professionals working with survivors of human trafficking. The training pertains to both forms of human trafficking: sex trafficking and labor trafficking (forced labor). Enrollees should have foundational victim services knowledge.
