Advanced Training Academy for Child & Family Advocates

The Child & Family Advocacy Academy(CFAA) is a 15 CEU advanced training academy developed in partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). This online training academy is designed to provide evidence-based best practices, enhance-based best practices, enhance valuable skills and share prevention models and systems-based approaches for professionals working with child and adolescent victims of crime and their families.

The Child & Family Advocacy Academy will be offered next January 28-30, 2025. 

Who attends?

This course is designed for professionals working with child and adolescent victims of crime and their families.  There is no required prerequisite, however, this is an advanced course and those enrolling are expected to have a foundational understanding of victim advocacy and  trauma-informed practices.

Dates

The 2025 CFAA is offered as a 3-day intensive online academy from January 28-30th from 10:00am – 5:00pm Eastern Time through NOVA’s Training Center.

NOVA does offer limited need-based scholarships for the training academies. The scholarship covers the registration fee only and all scholarship recipients are required to have access to Zoom and a microphone feature to complete the academy. The scholarship application will be provided when registration opens.

The CFAA offers 15 CEUs in total.

The course is offered through Zoom Meeting. While access to camera/video and microphone aren’t required, it is highly encouraged.

We understand that life happens, and that’s okay! CFAA’s make-up policy ensures that all class sessions will be recorded and participants will have the opportunity to make up two missed sessions in order to receive a certificate for completion. Every CFAA class allows participants the unique opportunity to engage with subject matter experts in real time, which makes attendance a critical part to maximize learning.
