NOVA’s Military Advocacy Programs provide training and credentialing to military victim advocates, as well as, civilian criminal justice and allied professionals serving the military community. 

Advocating for Military-Connected Survivors Project

NOVA is proud to serve as the Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Provider for the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) Advocating for Military-Connected Survivors Project. In this role, the project team provides TTA to community advocates, civilian criminal justice, and allied professionals responding to military-connected survivors (active duty members, National Guard/Reserve, Veterans, and Family members) of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking (DVSAS).

DoD Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA) Program

NOVA’s DAVA team equips DoD DAVAs with the necessary tools, knowledge and credentialing to provide comprehensive support for people impacted by domestic abuse within military communities, while fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the DoD network.

DOD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP)

Join a growing field of trained and certified civilian victim advocates upholding the highest standards of victim care and privacy. The D-SAACP is for Sexual Assault Response Coordinators, Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Program Managers and Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Victim Advocates.
