Advanced Training for Campus-Based Victim Advocates
NOVA’s Campus Advocacy Training (NCAT) is a 30-hour advanced training academy focused on building knowledge and skills to prevent and respond to domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking in higher education. The Training will be delivered using a blended-learning approach, which includes seven (7) consecutive weeks of virtual training and self-paced assignments designed to foster participant engagement and discussion.
This academy is intended for campus advocates and community-based advocates serving college populations and covers topics such as ethics & boundaries, confidentiality, privacy, and privilege, language justice, federal laws, restorative justice, forensic exams, and much more.

NCAT is seven (7) weeks of live training facilitated by national campus experts, and will be offered January 21 through March 4, 2026 (Wednesdays only) from 11:00 AM – 4:30 PM (EST).
This training is virtual only with occasional pre-work and homework materials. Participants of this unique academy will be able to use CEU credits to fulfill the National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP) renewal requirements.

Refund Policy: A full refund, less $75 processing fee prior to 12/22/25; On and after 12/23/25, there will be NO refunds unless training has been canceled by NOVA. NOVA reserves the right to cancel any training due to lack of minimum registration and will provide full refund.

Applicants should have received foundational victim advocacy training prior to registering for this training. Many take their state certification training while others may choose to complete foundational level training through the Office for Victims of Crime online Victim Assistance Training.

NCAT takes place on Wednesdays from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM ET (with a scheduled lunch break included) for 7 consecutive weeks beginning in January.

NCAT’s make-up policy ensures that all class sessions will be recorded and participants will have the opportunity to make up missed sessions in order to receive a certificate for completion. Every NCAT class allows participants the unique opportunity to engage with subject matter experts in real time, which makes attendance a critical part to maximize learning.

NCAT classes are small by design and class size is limited to maximize opportunities for direct interaction with nationally recognized subject matter experts in live time. Currently, there is no other national campus advocacy training like NCAT.
