Meeting the Moment:
Saving Victim Services
Advocacy Works: Standing Together. Supporting What Matters.
Our Mission: To connect business leaders with nonprofit victim service agencies in need of free strategic counsel and management advice to support and sustain critical, life-saving victim services for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, homicide and other crimes.
Why Now?
- Nonprofits serving crime victims are in crisis. On April 22, 2025, the U.S. Department of Justice abruptly terminated $811 Million in federal grants for victim service programs and more federal funding cuts are forecasted.
- The impact of this crisis on American’s safety and survivors’ lives is clear. Programs providing life-saving services to survivors are shutting down or scaling back—including 24/7 victim hotlines, domestic violence shelters and rape crisis centers, among others, with rural and culturally-specific victim service programs most impacted by this funding crisis.
- Nonprofit leaders need strategic help in navigating this crisis. Advocacy Works matches nonprofit leaders with business leaders to provide brief, 1-1, advice to help nonprofit executives respond and prepare for funding cuts, including developing contingency plans, exploring cost-saving measures, and diversifying revenue sources, among other strategies.
Who do we need?
- C-suite business leaders looking to make a meaningful difference with knowledge in:
- finance and accounting
- strategic planning
- contingency planning and risk management
- contract and employment law
- crisis management and communication planning
What's the commitment?

- Pro bono consultation will be scheduled based on your availability and capacity.
- You will be matched with a victim service program in your area of interest and expertise.
Make a lasting impact by donating your expertise to non-profits serving survivors of crime.
