Sustain and strengthen life-saving services for survivors.
About Advocacy Works
- Nonprofits serving crime victims are in crisis. On April 22, 2025, the U.S. Department of Justice abruptly terminated $811 Million in federal grants for victim service programs and more federal funding cuts are forecasted.
- The impact of this crisis on American’s safety and survivors’ lives is clear. Programs providing life-saving services to survivors are shutting down or scaling back—including 24/7 victim hotlines, domestic violence shelters and rape crisis centers, among others, with rural and culturally-specific victim service programs most impacted by this funding crisis.
