NOVA's Annual Career Development Fair
May 12-14, 2026
Join NOVA for this FREE event! While the 2025 Fair highlighted various areas within advocacy, the 2026 fair will focus on highlighting some of the many roles within advocacy.
Spanning over 3 days, new and aspiring advocates will have the opportunity to hear from experts in the field about their roles, career paths, challenges and advice. Please note there are no CEUs for attending this event or viewing recordings.

Day 1: Introduction to Advocacy

Professionals in victim services across multiple divisions of the federal government will discuss their roles/responsibilities and share tips for success in their field. Featuring: Peace Corps Office of Victim Advocacy, FBI Victim Services Division, Magellan Federal and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Victim/Witness Assistance Program.

National Non-Profits Panel VIEW RECORDING >
Professionals across various roles in national non-profits will discuss their roles/responsibilities and share tips for success in their field. Featuring: National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), Safe Haven for Pets, National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) and Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence.

This panel of past military advocates will discuss the role of victim advocates on military bases, credentialing and the many career paths that connect to victim services in the military.
